On 1st January 2015 the “TAPPS” Project (Trusted Application for Open Cyber Physical System) started. It has been funded by the European Commission within the Horizon 2020 Framework.
The project aims at the development of a set of applications for Cyber-Physical systems able to guarantee a high degree of reliability and therefore able to manage different critical aspects for human safety in a wide range of products.
The strong collaboration between Research centres, technology providers and use-cases, all involved in the TAPPS consortium, will lead to the creation of innovative applications to be tested on Energica electric motorcycles (Energica Ego and Energica Eva).
The TAPPS project goes beyond traditional solutions for safety, security and reliability in the CPS domain and offers a new approach towards extensibility of CPS platforms, the TAPPS concept.
TAPPS is based on a dedicated execution environment for distributed, safety-critical CPS applications offering multiple layers of security and a holistic, open end-to-end tool chain for developing and deploying CPS Apps.
Thanks to the activities carried out within the TAPPS project, Energica Motor Company is working to set up a series of after-sales services based on a trusted technology, able to deliver a guaranteed advanced use of the connectivity functions of the motorcycles, combined with an high level of safety for the driver.
This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 645119.
